GHGA Webinar: Interpretation of Results from Biostatistics

Having a good understanding of statistics is vital for Biologists designing and analysing their own experiments. To get you started, GHGA is offering a new webinar “Interpretation of Results from Biostatistics - A Beginner’s Guide”.

The webinar will cover the general concepts behind hypothesis testing workflows, including summary statistics, null and alternative hypotheses, and p-values. We will focus specifically on what you should pay attention to when you interpret results from a biostatistical analysis. We will be using gene expression as an example, and work with visuals rather than equations, to make the topic accessible to a broad audience.

The webinar aims to spark interest in the topic and enable non-experts to better judge results, so everyone is welcome! The seminar will be given by Sarah Kaspar from the Centre for Statistical Data Analysis, EMBL.

The event is in English and will be held on 27 April 2023, 14:00 CEST (available afterwards on demand). Attendance is free, but we ask for registration.
