genomDE/GHGA Workshop at GfH 2026

GHGA co-hosts in the workshop "10,000 Genomes and Counting: Experiences, Interfaces and Perspectives from the genomDE Model Project" at the 36th Annual Conference of the German Society of Human Genetics (GfH) in Munich.

The session will present early experiences from the genomDE model project, covering Germany's decentralised data infrastructure for genomic medicine coordinated by BfArM. Topics include data handling across the six genome data centers (GRZ), potential integration with GHGA, data flow management through Robert Koch-Instituts (RKI) central trust centre, and the current status of patient recruitment. Clinical perspectives and first impacts of the project will also be discussed.

Program highlights:

  • Andreas Till (BfArM): On the Path to Modern Genomic Medicine: Status of the genomDE Model Project
  • Christian Mertes (TUM & TUM Klinikum): Genome data center operations and GHGA integration
  • Anna Lübbe (RKI): A central trust centre at the Robert Koch Institute: Gateway for Secure Genomic Research and Health Care
  • Malte Spielmann (Charité): Clinical Perspective on genomDE - first impact in clinical practice of genomDE
  • Joint discussion chaired by Jan Eufinger

When: Friday, March 6, 2026, 12:15-13:15
Where: Taurus 1-2, Ground floor, GfH Conference Center, Munich

The workshop aims to clarify technical, legal, and organisational interfaces in Germany's genomic medicine infrastructure and explore best practices for future data use in healthcare and research.
