Professor Lorenz Grigull from the Center for Rare Diseases at the Bonn University Hospital will talk about "The Path to Diagnosis, Misdiagnoses, and Pattern Recognition in Medicine"  at the GHGA lecture series ("Advances in Data-Driven Biomedicine") on May 15, 2024.

Biography:

Prof. Dr. med. Lorenz Grigull. Studying medicine at Bonn university, doctoral thesis on S. mansoni infections in Uganda. Training as a pediatrician at the Hannover Medical School (MHH). Longstanding work as senior physician in pediatric oncology at Hannover Medical School (MHH). There, lecturer, member of the study commission, and acquisition of additional qualifications (Master of Business Administration / MBA; Master of Medical Education / MME). Habilitation on opportunistic infections. Longstanding research on the development of diagnosis-supporting procedures for rare diseases. Development of digital teaching concepts and innovative workshop concepts. Awards for innovations and excellent teaching (Diagnose in Sekundenstelle und Wissenschaftspreis Niedersachsen 2019). Since 2020 at the University Hospital Bonn at the local center of rare diseases (ZSEB), since 2021 spokesperson and head of the ZSEB.
