GHGA Now on re3data & FAIRsharing: Making Genomic Data More Discoverable

We are excited to announce that GHGA is now officially listed as a recognised data repository on both re3data and FAIRsharing. In addition, we strive for inclusion into DataCite in the very near future.

You can find the GHGA entries here: GHGA on re3data and GHGA on FAIRsharing

Why Does This Matter?

re3data is a global registry of research data repositories, and FAIRsharing links data policies, standards, and repositories. Being listed in these well-regarded registries increases the visibility and accessibility of GHGA for researchers, funders, and institutions looking for trusted repositories to store and access research data. It also highlights our alignment with community standards and the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles for data management.

For the scientific community, this means:

  • Easier Discovery. Researchers can now easily find GHGA as a secure place to deposit and access genomic data.

  • Support for Open Science. Our inclusion reinforces the importance of FAIR data principles, encouraging responsible data sharing.

  • Recognition & Trust. These registrations signal that GHGA meets high standards for research data governance, security and management. All criteria valued by funders, publishers, and institutions.

  • Clear Licensing Policies. Alongside these registrations, we have finalised our licensing policy, providing clear guidelines on the reuse of materials produced by the GHGA consortium.

As the need for secure and transparent genomic data sharing continues to grow, GHGA remains committed to providing a high-standard and federated environment for biomedical research.
