GHGA presents at the International Workshop on Science Gateways

BioDATEN team members along with GHGA team members Dr. Jens Krüger, Jordy D. Orellana Figueroa, Moritz Hahn, Zehra Hazal Sezer participated, from the 15th to the 17th of June 2022, in the "14th International Workshop on Science Gateways” Trento, Italy. The goal of this workshop was to bring together researchers and scientists from various scientific domains to discuss problems and solutions in the fields related to science gateways, identify new issues, shape future research directions, foster the exchange of ideas, standards, and common requirements, and push for the wider adoption of science gateways in e-Science.

Zehra Hazal Sezer and Moritz Hahn presented a talk introducing the mission and architecture strategy of GHGA. We presented the basis for the development of GHGA, as well as specific details on the standards we use, the organisation of the work areas, the software development workflow for both the backend and frontend, as well as the technology used in the project. We presented some of the progress already achieved, as well as an overview of the upcoming stages of development and our goals for the future functionality of the GHGA platform

Furthermore, Dr. Jens Krüger was a member of the panel “FAIR principles and Science Gateways”. Thomas Zajac also presented a talk about BioDATEN. 

The IWSG23 conference will be hosted by Dr. Jens Krüger in Tübingen in June 2023.
