The de.NBI & ELIXIR-DE and GHGA Knowledge Series: Enhancing Gene Ontology for Medical Lipidomics

Are you struggling to connect lipidomics data to concrete biological functions? While Over-representation analysis (ORA) identifies lipid trends, bridging the gap to metabolic pathways and disease mechanisms remains a challenge.

In this webinar, you can learn more about MAPtoGO, a novel Multiomics Analysis Platform designed for simultaneous Gene Ontology (GO)-based enrichment across proteomics, lipidomics, metabolomics, and transcriptomics. We will cover how to perform unified interpretation of diverse biomolecules to identify enriched GO terms, physicochemical categories, and disease associations in a single analysis. We implemented MAPtoGO in a lightweight web application that is openly available [https://lifs-tools.org/map-to-go] and free of charge. We will also demonstrate how the application’s integration with Goslin allows for the seamless handling of various lipid nomenclature dialects, transforming complex datasets into interpretable statistical plots and actionable biological insights.

This webinar is aimed at students, early career researchers, clinicians, bioinformaticians, and everyone interested in mechanistic multiomics integration and advanced computational lipidomics.

The webinar will be held by Dominik Kopczynski from the University of Vienna.

The event is in English, it takes approx. 60 minutes and will be held on 7th May 2026 at 13:00 CEST (available afterwards on demand). Attendance is free, but we ask for registration.
