GHGA signs first Central-to-Data Hub Bilateral Contracts

We are pleased to announce the signing of Central-to-Data Hub Bilateral Contracts between the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the Technical University Dresden (TUD), and between the DKFZ and the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (EKUT). This represents an important milestone as we prepare to launch the GHGA Archive.

What does this mean?

The GHGA consortium is a highly collaborative project involving many institutions. This structure brings a number of benefits such as the ability to draw expertise and resources from across Germany. We want to make it possible, however, for those wishing to submit data to the GHGA Archive to do so without having to sign contracts with each institution that is involved.

The Central-to-Data Hub Bilateral Contracts is a key part of our legal setup, as it enables the GHGA Data Hubs to support GHGA Central (aka the DKFZ) to archive data without a Data Submitter needing to have a separate contract with each GHGA Data Hub. Data Submitters will be able to agree to a single Data Processing Contract with GHGA Central and have their data stored at any of the GHGA Data Hubs that have signed a Central-to-Data Hub Bilateral Contract.
