Gathering in Heidelberg for our yearly event, GHGA spent two days reviewing the past year and successes as well as planning ahead. The public symposium allowed us to showcase GHGA and the network it's embedded in, while strengthening our ties to these partners.

Participating in several conferences in September, GHGA members networked closely with various communities ranging from bioinformatic, research data infrastructure, to ethics scholars.

Celebrating the release of their latest brochure "In Focus: Genomic Data," the working group Gene Technology Report, in cooperation with GHGA, invited the public to an evening event discussing the significance of genomic data in modern medical research and diagnostics.

Participating actively in the Functional Epigenomics Conference in Saarbrücken, GHGA engaged closely with the epigenomics community for the first time.

GHGA joined the de.NBI/ELIXIR-Germany Spatial Hackathon ‘SpaceHack2.0’, advancing community-driven benchmarking.

In a two-day General Assembly, the achievements of the GDI's first year were discussed, and plans for the next year were outlined, with GHGA actively participating as Germany’s GDI node.

Early October, GHGA team members and PIs came together in Heidelberg for some valuable facetime, with two days filled with interesting talks and discussions. The focus of this year's meeting revolved around the Scientific Advisory Board.

Participating actively in two conferences in September, CoRDI and GCB, GHGA members networked closely with the research data infrastructure and bioinformatics communities.

Spending a few hot days in the shade of the Black Forest, the GHGA team, joined by several PIs, enjoyed three days of digital detox and strategy discussion!

The 15th International Workshop on Science Gateways was hosted by GHGA member Jens Krüger and featured presentations on GHGA’s data protection concept and the GHGA Metadata Catalog.

A delegation from GHGA joined the All-Hands meeting of ELIXIR, the European infrastructure for life science data, strengthening ties with de.NBI, fEGA, GA4GH, and more.

GHGA organized a workshop at the GfH conference (german society for human genetics) on “Best practice examples for shared genome data usage”. The Workshop focused on the importance of Metadata and the new GHGA Metadata Catalog.
