The Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) has now joined the GHGA Consortium as a new Co-applicant Institution. Together with MDC and Charité, the BIH will develop a GHGA Data hub in Berlin.

As part of the NFDI Interim Report Symposium, GHGA presented progress and future plans for the project. The event, hosted by the DFG, provided insights into the results of the review round of the NFDI consortia.

Going into the new year with exciting news, we are pleased to announce that we have concluded the first integration of the core services required for GHGA Archive! As of January 2024, the GHGA Architecture team has deployed this next stage of GHGA for internal testing.

GHGA joined the de.NBI/ELIXIR-Germany Spatial Hackathon ‘SpaceHack2.0’, advancing community-driven benchmarking.

In a two-day General Assembly, the achievements of the GDI's first year were discussed, and plans for the next year were outlined, with GHGA actively participating as Germany’s GDI node.

The Max Delbrück Center (MDC) Berlin is now part of the GHGA Data Hub Cooperation Contract. Together with the BIH and Charité, the MDC can start to develop a GHGA Data Hub for storing and sharing of human omics data.

While praising GHGA and its team effort to establish a national database, the SAB stressed the value of the infrastructure and its need for a long term perspective. A request to funders rather than GHGA.

A recent publication, spearheaded by the Next Generation Sequencing Competence Network (NGS-CN) and GHGA, introduces NCBench, a platform for continuous benchmarking of genomic variant calling workflows.

As we prepare to launch GHGA Archive, a white paper describing both how our legal and data protection structure operates and how our obligations and ambitions have shaped our work has been published.

Participating actively in two conferences in September, CoRDI and GCB, GHGA members networked closely with the research data infrastructure and bioinformatics communities.
